What I did...

In Response To: I noticed the same thing w/my HK33 .22LR kit... (LongDuck)

The extractor is NOT held in by the horizontal tabs in the back, only the lil' semi circles in the front. I took a screwdriver blade and just wedged it out a bit, up and over the HK retainer. Then did the same with the other side. It then just falls out.

I had to use a dremel grinding disk (small one) to just kiss the two horizontal tabs towards the back a bit to clear the center rail in the HK unit. Careful... I'm assuming you don't want any binding issues but you don't want it to wiggle around either.

Assembly was just the reverse of removal, although next time I do the install, I'm going to find a very small c-clamp to brace the extreme rear of the extractor and help hold it in as I wedge the front ends around and below the hold in tabs. It was a bit tedious to try to get the thing to lie flat while manhandling the front around.

Forget filing these things... they're hard as hell. It laughed at my file... no seriously... I heard it.
